I was lucky enough to be accepted into the First-Year Research Experiences program at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. As part of the program, I worked under Professor Jacob Warner, a marine microbiologist studying the gene networks and embryonic development of corals, anemones, and sea urchins. In the Warner Lab, my research focus was to design cDNA primers from the Orbicella faveolata coral gene sequences. I highlighted and outlined my research in form of a poster and I got to display my poster at the Undergrad Research Showcase at UNCW.
